I have an MFA in poetry because I love language on the level of words, and I have worked with language in one way or another since 1998. I entered the freelance world in 2002 after the dissolution of the Boston-area startup for which I worked, and found that my ability to mediate between the technological and editorial worlds in industry translated well to the market in general. My work centers on writing and editing, but as the technologies that deliver content have changed, so has the editor's purview. I enjoy variety and challenge, so as my clients and I have uncovered their needs I have worked with them to solve problems efficiently both in terms of time and resources. I write and edit in any medium, and that means I've expanded my practice to include technology, including web site development and workflow design. A good editor works with you as a partner to make sure you get your work focused and finished. I enjoy helping people solve their business problems, whether that involves purging marketing materials of all typographical errors, guiding the development of a piece of writing, or simply figuring out how to identify the next step in a complex project.
